LandCruiser Oil Pan Swap
The stock Tundra oilpan was not built with a solid front axle in mind. It requires significant amount of clearancing for it to work, even more if you want to run HiSteer.
| First task was to remove the existing system. My last attempt to increase the holding capacity went awry and I ended up warping the pan. That in turn lead to oil leakage. Time to take care of that issue. |

Here's the bottom of the 2UZ-FE. There are 3 parts to the oil pan assembly, the loer pan, a baffle, and the upper pan. The hardest part of taking it down is prepping the surface for RTV. A scraper and a rag wet with brake cleaning fluid get it ready. Check that the pick up sump gasket came off clean. If not scrape and clean it. |
| Here is a side by side of the 2 different assemblies. You can see how the LC set up has the main reservoir for the lower pan more towards the rear. |

First, install the pick up sump, then using RTV, goop up the the mounting surface. Torque the 12mm bolts to 21 ft-lbs, the 10mm ones to 66 in-lbs. |
| Put on the baffle and lower pan. Lower pan bolts get torqued to 66 in-lbs, don't over do it!!! |

Here it is! Much better! Plentu of room for the tie rod and drag link. Took 7.5 qts to fill it up |
