After 2 days of rain, a nice little romp thru the hills sounded like a good
idea, until a gravity storm hit.
The dirt/clay on the trail was so slick that I slid right off of the side of the
trail after a failed climb attempt on a hill that normally you could cruise up
in 2x, coming to a stop too close to the edge for my comfort. What we don't see
in the picture is the 200 ft drop that is on the other side of those little
trees.........

One helluva parking job |
Not the best attachment point, but the biggest one within reach |

In an attempt to get her straight, we switched the anchor point. But the rear remained off to the side. |
That took care of the front end, now for the back. Once again, I got to test the
durability of my new rear bumper as well as the handiness of my HiLift jack. I
kept the front anchored with the winch, but needed to get my rear tires back on
the road. I wrapped a tree saver around the center of the rear bumper on the
pass. side of the receiver hitch to provide a nice strong attachment spot.

We were back on track and ready to go get some grub, no worse for the wear, except for all the mud on us!!!
|
Then came the long backward decent
back down. I hate clay.
So carrying all that recovery equipment finally paid off!
Don't leave home without it!!!!
