ARB Sahara Bar Install for the Toyota Tundra

The instructions from ARB were straight forward and easy to follow. They also had some good photos to help explain a few steps. Nonetheless, a few things slipped by them and I'll fill you in as to what I discovered. The next step was to get the winch mounted. The bar is set up to accept Warn winches, either the M10,000 or M12,000. I used the M12,000. The first thing you have to do is to modify the control motor housing. Warn tells you to mount the box directly on the winch motor with what they call worm clamps (I call 'em hose clamps!), but with the Sahara bar, you mount it to the bar. Therefore, you have to add some hardware that ARB supplies and you get rid of one of the built in mount brackets by either flattening it out just cutting it off. I chose to cut mine. Part of the new bracket also serves as a wire guide to rout the wires from the control box to the winch motor in the correct direction so they stay out of the way of the wire drum. ARB also gives you new wires that are longer in length to compensate for the control box mounting position difference. One of the wires just barely reaches to the post on the winch (the F2 terminal).
