The other tweak you need to do to the winch is to rotate the clutch lever housing by 72 degrees (2 bolt holes). This was scary for me as if you lift the housing too far, you will unmesh the gears and have a big repair job on your hands. It went smooth enough, but it was nervous time!! You need to do this in order to be able to reach the clutch lever after it is mounted on the bar. The lever lets you disengage the gears so that you can free spool out the wire rope by hand and not be forced to use the winch motor every time.
