Here is how we set up the steering column

To start, the fire wall plate had to be modified. The stock configuration allows for the shaft to exit the cab vertically.  With the new setup it needs to exit more horizontally.  Also, since the stock boot was already tore up, we reused the boot ring.  A generic CV boot was used to seal it off, but I am not having much luck keeping it in place
Here is the transition from the stock column under the steering wheel to the new shaft.

A)  Stock column

B)  Recycled Toyota U-joint minus the ragjoint end

C)  New shaft welded to the old U-joint

You can see that we were slightly off on out measurement for the new shaft, but it doesn't rub too badly

Here is the shaft installed on the box without the shock hoop installed yet.
Here is how the new shaft exits the cab

The heim support for the steering shaft off of the shock hoop.  I do need to lube this periodically or it squeals like a mad pig!!

Eventually I may replace this with a custom setup from Flaming River, but for now it works just fine!!!
